Burton lose Nigel Clough to Derby

NIGEL CLOUGH looks set to leave Burton Albion to become the new manager of Derby County. That could be good news for Wrexham as, under Clough's tutelage, Burton are running away with the Blue Square Premier and are currently 13 points clear in the sole automatic promotion spot. And if Clough does follow in the footsteps of his legendary father Brian, it will be a relief to Wrexham fans after Dragons manager Dean Saunders was linked with the job. Clough, who has been manager of Burton for 10 years, said yesterday: "Everybody's talking and things are being thrashed out, so we'll have to see later on in the week if anything materialises from it. "The experience of being here with the people, chairman and players has been a pleasure. "It's not over yet and there's no certainty that it will be over." Read
